Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions

Summary Of Position: The Office of Graduate Admissions is seeking a dynamic individual interested in joining our recruitment team. The Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions is responsible for working with the graduate admission/program staff in all aspects of the marketing, recruitment and admissions process for Elon’s eight campus-based graduate programs with particular emphasis on the graduate programs in the Schools of Communications and Education currently including Master of Arts in Interactive Media, Master of Education and Master of Arts in Higher Education. Education Requirements: Master’s degree required, preferably in a related field such as a graduate degree in Communications and/or M.Ed. in Higher Ed Administration. Special Skills Or Experience: Special skills include prior marketing and admissions experience, strong writing skills, comfort with public speaking, sterling organizational and project management abilities, ability to multi-task with detail, work in a team setting, and a strong self-directed drive to meet ambitious enrollment goals. Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time Regular Length Of Experience: 3-5 years Admissions experience highly recommended, related experience may be considered. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Develop and manage comprehensive marketing plans for 3 graduate programs with dean of graduate admissions and program directors/coordinators. • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with prospective students and program staff via telephone, web and email. • Organize and host on and off-campus visit events with prospective students and their families. • Advise and counsel students about program benefits, admission process/requirements, and financial planning/scholarship information. • Travel to select company/graduate fairs. • Provide creative input on program catalogs & brochures. • Manage content of websites. Review web analytics. • Evaluate applications for admission: transcripts, test scores, recommendations, statements of goals and work experience forms. • Research and complete surveys for graduate guides. • Supervise Graduate Apprentice.
