TLI Launches “Going Public”
TLI’s Going Public Reviews Call for Reviewers & Artefacts
Teaching and Learning Inquiry would like to share a new opportunity for the SoTL community to review the diverse ways we ‘go public’ with our SoTL work. Going Public Reviews (500 – 1500 words) celebrate the many ways in which SoTL can be shared (e.g., books, websites, podcasts, open educational resources, blogs). They offer valuable insights and critical evaluation to help TLI readers make informed decisions about their use and application of this work. Going Public Reviews can serve as a helpful guide for SoTL scholars, sparking conversations, contributing to the support of SoTL, and nurturing a vibrant and diverse community of scholarship.
Writing a Going Public Reviews is a great way to engage with SoTL, offering an opportunity to explore resources, tools, and scholarship you may be using in your current work or would like to integrate into your SoTL practice.
We have several ways colleagues can engage with this new form of publication:
- Submitting a review of a SoTL artefact
If you would like to submit a SoTL artefact that you have reviewed, please review the TLI website for submission guides, or reach out to Associate Editor Jill McSweeney (jmcsweeney@elon.edu) for support.
- Expressing interest to review
If this sounds like an interesting opportunity that you’d like to consider, but you don’t have an artefact to review, consider emailing Associate Editor Jill McSweeney (jmcsweeney@elon.edu) expressing your interest. We are currently compiling a list of individuals who would like to review artefacts, and we will reach out to you when opportunities arise!
In your expression of interest, please include the following information:
- Name and email
- Types and themes of artefacts you’d be interested in reviewing
- When you would be available to review
- Submitting a SoTL artefact for review
We are welcoming submissions of public SoTL artefacts to be reviewed. If you have an artefact that you wish to submit for review consideration, please reach out to Associate Editor Jill McSweeney (jmcsweeney@elon.edu). When reaching out, please include the following information:
- Date of publication
- All artefacts and materials you wish to be reviewed
- Information on how reviewers and TLI Editors will be able to access the artefacts
We do not guarantee your artefact will be reviewed, but we will try our best to accommodate your request.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or would like additional information!
