Advocacy Committee | Call for Applications

The International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, a growing international organization dedicated to the scholarship of teaching and learning, needs leaders who are original thinkers, hard workers, and passionate about moving SoTL forward globally.

ISSOTL’s Advocacy Committee elevates the role, value, and contributions of SoTL at educational institutions and in the public; champions the international nature of Society; ensures student involvement in SoTL; and supports SoTL as part of a career trajectory. To learn more about the Advocacy Committee, see Article V, Section 2 in the ISSOTL Bylaws. Terms of office are two years beginning on April 1, 2025.

The ISSOTL Advocacy Committee welcomes applicants for the following positions:

• Co-chair (member-at-large)
• Committee member (member-at-large)
• Committee member (member-at-large)

Co-chair works collaboratively with the co-chair (Regional VP) to lead the committee in promoting the value or SoTL’s and advancing its visibility worldwide. This is a leadership role that offers a chance to guide the committee’s efforts in alignment with strategic priorities, fostering connections across the Society and beyond.

Committee members drive the committee’s efforts forward by generating resources, completing collaborative projects, and, fostering connections across the Society and beyond.

Submissions

If you are interested in joining the Advocacy Committee, please submit the following information in a single PDF file:

• Name, institution, and title of candidate.
• Contact information (address, email address, phone number).
• Position for which the person is interested in being a candidate.
• A brief statement of interest outlining why you wish to stand for the post and a brief bio highlighting relevant experience and skills (max 200 words).

Statements of interest will be shared with the Advocacy Selections Committee.
