2025 Emerging Scholars Fund
ISSOTL’s goal is to “foster inquiry and disseminate findings about what improves and articulates post-secondary learning and teaching.” We recognize the importance of engaging emerging scholars who are interested in the scholarship of teaching and learning. We are dedicated to supporting this new talent and encouraging the engagement of students through the sharing of ideas, networking, and learning at the annual ISSOTL conference.
The Emerging Scholars Fund facilitates this engagement by inviting currently registered post-secondary students to apply for a conference fee waiver to attend ISSOTL25. Learn more at: https://issotl.com/issotl25/
In addition to the waiver of the 2025 conference fee, successful applicants will receive a one-year ISSOTL membership (implemented either immediately or at their next renewal).
In return, successful applicants accepting Emerging Scholars funding agree to:
- Write a reflection on their conference experiences in 2025, for inclusion on the ISSOTL website. (This can be in any format. For example, journal style, photographic, sketching, or a creative piece such as a poem).
- Be actively engaged in judging the Best Student Awards (e.g. poster, presentation, etc.) at the upcoming ISSOTL25 conference.
- Be involved for one year, as needed, in judging the next round of the Emerging Scholars Fund call (2026).
- Join the ISSOTL Student Engagement and Co-Inquiry Interest Group (or another IG, as relevant).
All applications are due by June 16, 2025. Notification of outcomes will be made by June 30, 2025. To apply, please complete the following form here.
NOTE: Emerging Scholars Fund (ESF) recipients will be given a code to use at registration, which will deduct the award value from their conference fee. Please await the outcome of your application before you register for the conference.
We look forward to receiving your application!
