Announcing the Results of the 2025 ISSOTL Election

On behalf of the Recognition Committee and the current Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the results of the recent ISSOTL Board election, your community for advancing the scholarship of teaching and learning.

We are grateful to all the candidates who put their names forward, and our members who participated in the voting process.

Please join us in welcoming the newly elected members to our Board of Directors:

  • Amy De Jaeger, President-Elect
  • Angela Owusu-Ansah, Vice President, Africa
  • Christina Gitaski, Vice President, Middle East
  • Oscar Mauricio Jerez Yanez, Vice President, Latin America and the Caribbean
  • David Lemmons, Student Vice President

Their terms will begin on July 1, 2025, and they bring with them diverse experiences and deep commitments to enhancing teaching and learning through scholarly practice.

This year also marks an important development in our structure. We are pleased to remind members of the addition of three new regions, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America and the Caribbean, reflecting our commitment to inclusive representation and stronger regional engagement. Each member of the Board serves as a vital liaison between local members and the Society, helping to foster community, share resources, and advance regionally relevant initiatives. We are especially pleased to welcome dedicated individuals into these newly established roles.

We also wish to announce the appointment of Susannah McGowan to the position of Historian and Brian Krohn to the position of Treasurer.

As we look ahead, we are excited to continue building a vibrant and inclusive community. With your support and the dedication of our new and continuing board members, we are confident in our collective ability to advance our shared mission.

Thank you once again for your ongoing engagement with ISSOTL.

Warm regards,

Melanie Hamilton
ISSOTL President 2024-2025
