This year’s theme reflects Calgary’s high elevation of 1,049 meters and the nearby Canadian Rocky Mountains peaking at 3,747 meters, dramatically shaping the city’s western skyline. This theme will inspire new ideas, hope, and future-oriented thinking in the scholarship of teaching and learning. See the full Call for Proposals.

The conference will take place from October 11 through 14, 2017.  For information about hotels, the airport, and the conference venue, click “Logistics” above.

If you can, come early or stay late: just over an hour up the road is Banff, a resort town in the Canadian Rockies surrounded by Banff National Park (6,500 square kilometres of valleys, mountains, glaciers, forests, and rivers and home to wildlife such as elk, grizzly bears, and wolves). The town itself features château-style hotels, restaurants, boutiques, and souvenir shops.  Click here for some possibilities for pre- and post-conference visits to Banff.
