Travel, hotels  and costs

Conference fees & costs

The conference fees will be in line with the fees for ISSOTL22. We estimate the Early Bird rate to be 505 Euros (approximately $500). More information regarding the fees will follow shortly. The costs for a hotel room will vary between 135 euros (approximately 134 dollars) and 220 euros (approximately 218 dollars) per night per person, including breakfast.

How to get to the conference

Utrecht’s convenient central location makes the city easy to reach for participants from all over the world.

For international travellers, the city can easily be reached in half an hour from Schiphol International Airport, located just outside of Amsterdam. A direct train from the airport – leaving every fifteen minutes – swiftly takes you to the central train station in Utrecht (34 minutes). Please note that getting around in Dutch cities by car is very unconventional, inconvenient, and expensive – we discourage renting a car.

Travelers from Europe can use the well-connected international railway and ferry network, connecting Utrecht to (for instance) Brussels, Paris, Berlin and London. International trains to Utrecht include the Thalys, TGV, City Night Line, Intercity Antwerp/Brussels, ICE International and Eurostar. Utrecht University developed a train zone map to encourage traveling by train to Utrecht. This map shows which European destinations are easy to reach by train.  On this page you can read why travelling by train makes such a difference.
