ISSOTL Connect 2021
February 24–26, 2021
The International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (ISSOTL) is pleased to announce a virtual event coming in February! After the cancellation of its 2020 conference due to the pandemic, ISSOTL set out to find another way to support its members and continued scholarly engagement more broadly. ISSOTL Connect 2021 will reach out to and showcase the global diversity of SoTL.
ISSOTL Connect 2021 is a three-day online event that will feature pre-recorded sessions released at planned intervals, so you can connect where and when you are ready! This event (more modest but no less inspiring than the annual ISSOTL conference) is designed to highlight the intellectual work of early-career SoTL scholars, including graduate students. While presentation is limited to ISSOTL members, attendance for ISSOTL Connect 2021 is open to anyone and everyone, and registration is free.
Overview of ISSOTL Connect 2021
ISSOTL Connect 2021 will blend synchronous and asynchronous components, allowing for convenient access and engagement wherever you are in the world. The event will launch with regional synchronous events that are appropriately scheduled within each region to allow for live interaction with participants. Short pre-recorded talks and presentations will be available through ISSOTL’s YouTube channel at planned intervals throughout the three days. To offer additional opportunities for engagement, ISSOTL will also host social media conversations about the different parts of the event, using the hashtag #ISSOTLConnect21.
Given the geographical diversity of ISSOTL’s regions, the event is scheduled with morning and afternoon/evening segments scheduled within each region. See the overview below, and click here for the detailed schedule for each region.
