Dual Professionals Interest Group
The relationship between HE and the professions has become increasingly intimate as higher education institutions seek to prepare learners for the future workplace, and students increasingly demand that their studies align with employer needs and expectations. In response, many universities employ ‘dual professionals’ (practitioner-academics or pracademics) but our understanding of the impact that dual professionals have on student learning remains underexplored. This IG will focus on the experience of dual professionals and the staff who support their transition into and journey through academic careers.
