Registration

• When does registration end?
  • Early bird registration ends September 15. Regular conference registration rates begin on September 16 and are valid until the end of the conference on October 31.
• What is included with my registration?
  • Registration includes access to all sessions for the duration of the registration dates. Onsite attendees with find 16 options for dining outside of the meals included with the conference registration. Please see the conference fee table on the conference fee webpage for a description of included meals. Please be aware that US portion sizes are typically quite large. This is true of the dining venues at French Lick. One meal often will contain enough food for 2 individuals. You may wish to split meals with colleagues by asking for an extra plate when placing your order. Pre-conference workshops can be added for an additional fee.
• Can I bring my spouse to the conference?
  • Guests may register for the non-member or daily registration option. All attendees must be registered to participate in programming, meals, and snack breaks.
• Can I register onsite?
  • On-site registration may be available. Please contact issotl24@issotl.com if you are interested in this option.

Transportation

• Can I fly into Chicago?
  • We do not recommend it. Flying into Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) in Kentucky is a better option for travelers heading to French Lick, Indiana, for several reasons:

1. Proximity: Louisville is closer to French Lick, with a drive of about 70 miles (112km) compared to approximately 300 miles (483km) from Chicago. This shorter distance means less travel time by car, allowing you to reach your destination faster.
2. Shuttle from the airport to location: As noted in the registration, conference organizers are providing transportation between the Louisville airport and the French Lick resort for an extra fee. Please indicate your interest in this service during the registration process.

• Can I fly into Indianapolis?
  • The Indianapolis International Airport is slightly farther (about 100 miles or 168km) from the French Lick resort then the Louisville airport (70 miles or 112km). It is a great option if you plan to rent a car and would like to stop in Bloomington, Indiana to see the Indiana University campus. HOWEVER, please be aware that ground transportation between the airport and the resort is your responsibility. We will not be arranging ground transportation to this location.
• How do I sign up for the shuttle from Louisville International Airport?
  • Shuttle service will be available to conference attendees between the Louisville International Airport and the resort on October 27 and October 31 for an additional fee. Please indicate your interest when completing the registration form. Conference organizers will contact all attendees indicating interest in early October to arrange details.
• What if I am driving to French Lick?
  • French Lick is conveniently located to many major cities in the midwestern United States. Complementary self-service and valet parking are available at each of the 3 resort hotels. (Please note it is customary in the US to tip ~$5 when using valet services.) Each hotel has a limited number of electric vehicle charging stations available on a first come, first serve basis.

Venue

• Conference organizers chose to host ISSOTL24 at a resort to align with the conference theme Recognizing Impact and Reinvigorating Practice. It is our hope that by choosing this location, you are able to be fully present for the conference and take advantage of the slower pace of the resort. You can find a map of the resort
• All conference sessions will be held in the Conference Center at the French Lick Springs Hotel. Sessions will be held in close proximity spread across 2 floors. There are stairs, escalators, and elevators available for traveling between floors.
• If you choose to stay at the West Baden Springs Hotel, complimentary shuttle and trolley service are available. There is also a paved walking path between the hotel and conference center.
• If you choose to stay at the Valley Tower Hotel, you can reach the conference center either by crossing a parking drive or via an enclosed pathway between the hotel and conference center.
• Complimentary wifi is available throughout the resort.

Lodging

• Attendees may choose from among 3 hotels onsite.
  • French Lick Springs Hotel is classically American in its architecture and it’s great for families, with a bowling alley, three pools and kids’ activities. It’s also just a few steps from all the action at French Lick Casino. It is attached to our Event Center and Exhibition Hall for business travel access.
  • West Baden Springs Hotel is ideal for those who love a more peaceful setting. The European-inspired architecture creates a luxurious backdrop for a couple’s getaway, anniversaries and other special occasions.
  • Valley Tower Hotel complements our historic hotels with modern décor and stylings, spacious accommodations, connecting room access, and the convenience of being next door to French Lick Casino.

• Is the hotel really sold out?
  • No! The hotel is not sold out. Please check the dates you have entered. From October 27 to October 31 (the conference dates), all room types will be available at the conference rate.
