ISSOTL21—Registration Fees

The work of ISSOTL runs almost entirely on the generosity, passion, and hard work of member volunteers. To assist with tasks that extend beyond volunteers’ skill sets and availability (i.e., executive support, website development and maintenance, copyediting for Teaching & Learning Inquiry, legal counsel), ISSOTL also contracts a small number of part-time employees. This combination of active volunteers and part-time support is necessary for ISSOTL to function and to grow. 

Thanks to the long-term financial planning and vision of budget-minded volunteers, ISSOTL has weathered the pandemic without the benefits of hosting an annual conference in 2020 (the primary source of income for funding the work of the Society), while also offering the ISSOTLConnect event entirely without cost to attendees. Meanwhile, the costs of running the Society have continued to accrue. As preparations move forward for ISSOTL’s first annual conference to be held virtually, hosting expenses are significantly less than an in-person event, but include a robust conference platform that can support the needs of the annual conference.  

In exchange, ISSOTL members receive the many benefits of our community, including: 

• Engaging with an international community of scholars and resources, 
• Enhancing leadership and mentorship skills through work you may pursue with the Society (i.e., Board positions, Standing Committee membership, ISSOTL Fellows), 
• Receiving advanced notice of ISSOTL news, career opportunities, and initiatives through our members-only newsletter, and 
• The professional and personal enrichment of thinking and learning together.
